Mental Health Counselling for Children and Adolescents

Individual Therapy

Amity Health’s Child and Adolescent Mental Health Occupational Therapist provides counselling for children, adolescents and families.

Counselling addresses emotional or behavioural challenges, anxiety, depression, trauma, grief/loss, chronic pain, ADD/ADHD, stressful life events, family illness, and perinatal depression/anxiety.

Danita Walsh, our Child and Adolescent Mental Health Counsellor is also trained in:

  • Alert Program
  • Cool kids/teens

which can be implemented on a 1:1 individual basis.

 

Therapy groups for kids/teens

Our Child and Adolescent Mental Health Counsellor also provides group therapy for kids or teens in the following programs.

  • Mindful Kids – relaxation and mindfulness skills for resilience and self-regulation
  • Courageous Kids group – kids living with a parent or sibling with mental illness

 

New Program  - "Your Space" for Kids and Youth

A free, therapeutic support group for kids and young people
(8 – 12 years old) with a parent or sibling with mental illness.

“Your Space” offers a safe space for kids to receive psychological
support in living with a parent or sibling with mental illness.

This program is in partnership with Relationships Australia WA, Carers WA and Amity Health.

Art Psychotherapy

This therapy is available to children and families, providing emotional and mental health support via creative self-expression for insight, resolution and support with issues. No art experience is required.
