Walking Together Through Grief
Grief and Loss groups offer more than education or a place to talk. They provide a space where people can come together and be seen—acknowledged for where they are in their grief journey.
At the heart of these groups is the understanding that grief is not one-size-fits-all, and no loss is greater or lesser than another.
As Elisabeth Kübler-Ross reminds us:
“There is no typical response to loss - as there is no typical loss. Our grief is as individual as our lives.”

While each person’s grief is unique, many share a common thread: the deep sense of isolation that can follow loss. Human connection becomes especially vital in these moments. In a group setting, people can meet others who are also navigating loss—without judgement, without expectation—simply being met where they are.
These groups are not about fixing or comparing pain. They exist to honour each person’s experience and to create a compassionate space of presence, understanding, and quiet support. They are about saying:
“I see you. I may not fully understand your experience, but I am here walking alongside you.”
Whatever your loss, and wherever you are on your grief journey, you do not have to carry it alone.
For those who prefer other forms of connection, online resources may be helpful. One excellent resource is What’s Your Grief — a website offering articles, online courses, podcasts, a community hub, and creative ways to express grief through photos and recipes.
