FUNDING BOOST TO OPEN SCHOOL SPORT FACILITIES TO LOCAL COMMUNITIES
Great to see the WA Government investing in Shared School and Community Sporting Infrastructure across regional areas, strengthening the role that schools and local clubs play as vital community hubs. Initiatives like the Community Use of School Sporting Facilities (CUSSF) program are already supporting regional towns such as the Williams Primary School in the Great Southern, creating more opportunities for children and families to engage in safe, supportive, and active environments.
At Amity Health, we see the value of this every day through our Communities for Children program. Schools and sport are often the first points of connection for children and families, particularly in regional WA. They provide trusted, accessible pathways to support children with early intervention and prevention. By strengthening these local environments, we can better support children to build strong foundations, and families to stay engaged.
We would welcome the opportunity to see this investment broaden further into the Great Southern and Wheatbelt, ensuring more regional communities can benefit from such early year’s initiatives.
