How Can Amity Health Help You?
You may be wondering ‘What IS Amity Health and how can they help regional communities?’
Well, we are many things to many different people but if we could break it down, it might look something like this:
We are a not-for-profit organisation offering health services and programs to help adults, children and families living in these regions of Western Australia:
the Great Southern (head office in Albany, office in Denmark),
the Wheatbelt (offices in Merredin, Moora, Narrogin & Northam),
the South-East Coastal Goldfields regions (office in Esperance) and more recently,
the Midwest region.
OUR SERVICES
So, what are the SERVICES we offer? We can help if you, your child or someone you care for, needs to see a:
Diabetes Educator
Dietitian
Occupational Therapist
Speech Pathologist
Mental Health clinician or,
Child Psychologist.
We call these services ‘Allied Health’ which put simply means, medical services other than GPs and dentists.
There is a cost for these services, and anyone can access them. A referral is not always needed from your GP.
VISITING SPECIALISTS
In addition to these services, we have a long list of visiting specialists who are based at our Albany clinic, ranging from Podiatrists, Audiologists, Dermatologists and Radiologists - just to name a few!
OUR PROGRAMS
As for the PROGRAMS that we run at Amity Health, we receive government funding which allows us to offer:
Funded HEALTH Programs (which do require a referral from your GP), in the areas of mental health care, chronic disease care and Aboriginal health, and;
Funded COMMUNITY Programs – such as our:
Healthy Country Kids playgroup in the Wheatbelt town of Merredin
Narrogin Kids Hub playgroup
Communities for Children program in the Great Southern and,
Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander Mental Health & Wellbeing program, in the Great Southern and Wheatbelt regions.
REGISTERED NDIS PROVIDER
Are you registered for the NDIS? (National Disability Insurance Scheme). It may help you to know that we are a registered NDIS provider. Not registered but would like to know how to? You can visit our website here for more information.
SNAPSHOTS
Because we ARE so many things to so many people, we’ve provided an outline of the Amity Health programs and services available in the various towns throughout the Great Southern, Wheatbelt and South-East Coastal Goldfields regions.
We have a Facebook page, a LinkedIn page and a website where you can find out even more about what we do, and how we can help you, your family, those you care for, and your community.
